I’m a trader sharing my thoughts and ideas on the markets I find interesting. I’m not a guru or an expert, and I’m not here to sell you anything. I’m just sharing honest insights.
Welcome to thetrade.blog, where I share my thoughts on trading and market analysis. My main focus is on gold, the Nasdaq, and the Dow Jones, with the occasional look at cryptocurrency markets. I rarely trade FX these days, but I keep an eye on GBP/USD since I’m UK-based.
My Approach to Trading
I use a mix of market profile, volume profile, and daily ranges to analyse the markets. From there, I build a trade plan by identifying key levels, assessing market conditions, and plotting entry areas. There’s no strict step-by-step guide to how I trade. If there was, I’d try to automate it. For me, it’s all about finding value, getting the best possible entry and sticking to my plan.
Preferred Tools and Platforms
I’ve experimented with a lot of platforms and tools over the years, but TradingView, MT4/5, and Sierra Chart remain at the forefront. In fact, they’re pretty much all I use these days. Between the three, I have all the TPO, volume/market profile, and range tools I need to perform technical analysis, plan trades, and execute them effectively.
My Trading Journal
This blog also serves as my personal trading journal, where I track market conditions, analyse price action, and reflect on key lessons. Keeping a record of my thought process helps me refine my approach, adapt to changing market dynamics, and stay disciplined. Whether it’s breaking down a session or highlighting areas of confluence, this space allows me to organise my insights in real time while sharing them with other traders.
